The passage of time in Wellington and elsewhere

A little more exercise of late. I have done three runs in the last week with three swims in between. The latter because the feet , legs and hips cannot cope with too much these days.
Back on the horse.
A long time since our last visit. We could not really work out how many times we had visited before. Just twice? Certainly in weather less pleasant than today. Beautiful setting. Nice little walk and then two milkshakes in the cafe which is in better condition than in the past.
The sunshines and Shaz and I revisited one of the walks in Wellington.
From Tinakori to Trelissick Park and then a walk through Ngaio to the pub.
To treat ourselves with beers and chips.
A lovely day in Wellington, ones that do occur from time to time.
A fine performance by Shaz in the 10km event. A beautiful day and thankfully not too hot.
I was watching as the injury to my glutes during training meant I could hardly walk let alone run.
We have just finished house sitting in Hataitai at D&M. Lovely to be somewhere comfortable-Sofas, TV and homeliness.
Plus ‘cat sitting’. A nice fellah though with a moulting long hair issue. And not so nice when he brought the dead bird into the lounge.
Yesterday was my final day after five and a half years being there part-time. I said goodbye to some familiar patients; Joseph and Valeria and the staff. It has been a good place to work, supportive, fun and pleasant colleagues and a variety of patients who for the most part are very nice to engage with.
So for the second year running we were at the Cathedral to welcome in Christmas day. A busier way to do so and more of an event after the previous local less moving experiences.
So today we were four as EQ is sitting in Germany enjoying her own special version of Christmas. The Cardinal was leading (NB next Pope- you read it here first) and there was lots of music. Not quite as full as last year and a bit too much complicated Latin singing. Consensus was that it was not so good this year. I still enjoyed the atmosphere and John D words were stimulating.
More fun ahead.
