The third one-dayer was played at the famous Westpac yesterday. Joe was therefrom just about the start, but even so missed the first two Windies wickets. I was watching the score during the afternoon at work, via ‘tinterent. By the time it came to going home I was seriously wondering if it was worth going to the game fo the the evening session. The Windies were poor, all out for 128, managing to squeeze about 40 of their 50 overs.
I turned up for the Blackcap’s inning, and joined the rest of the 10, 000 or so. There was big hitting and runs at the start, but McCullum went too big and was caught on the boundary, with Ryder blowing his brains by going for the hit the next ball and also being caught.
Then there was as struggle, and they lost another wicket, and could have been two more within an over.
It was good to watch the cricket live, and there were good aspects.
Powell looks a fine athlete and with a mean steak. When Taylor should have been given out caught off the glove down the leg side, Powell was not impressed, and sent down a

fast bouncer that the keeper missed, and then gave the batsman lots of eyeball.
The game finished when Gayle with his slow left arm spin bounced the batsman, the keeper missed it, they ran two, and given a wide on top. So a starling way to finish, but typical of the game.
Overall, my visit, not great value, $27 for 20 overs. Joe was happy all the same.
In reality, two poor teams, and NZ came out on top. The Blackcaps should go onto to win the series.
England one would expect to win the series in the Caribbean on this showing, though with current turmoil who knows.
