So this morning was the last game of grade 10 for Joe until the resumption of hostilities in February, after possibly some intensive training.
Joe is an all rounder who is “solid”.
Just worked out his figures for proceedings so far.
Bowling; overs 14.3, runs 84 (includes 15 wides or No balls) Wickets 4, with an economy of 5.8
He has also been keeping wicket, no stumpings achieved but style marks reasonable.
Batting; 14 runs for 5 outs so average of 2.8, and strike rate of 17/100 balls. So needs some work on stroke play I would say.
However, his are not the worst figures-go team!
So rest now from Saturday mornings rushing around and being frazled in the sun. Time to work on Joe’s forward defensive and slow left arm spin.

sounds like he needs the spin king ‘Olly’…I’ll ask him to board some tips. will also make this site look busier….btw, have started thrashersite.blogspot.com in competition, but nothing interesting posted yet.
Ah, but how are his all important sportsmanship qualities developing? You know the type of thing – “well played, hard luck, good effort, yes, that was a perfectly good catch and I accept without hesitation that I am out?
fair play and stopping the other team from “sledging” at age 10. is all part of the mantra
