Ballet

A little late in writing this up, but EQ and I went o the ballet on Friday to see Romeo and Juliet. It was great stuff, a recognisble story obviously, easy to understand with a mixture of classical ballet, and simple “acting”, to portray the story. The music was also quality stuff, and recognisable-“World at War” theme is the recognisable”hit” or the uninitiated.

The althleticism of these dancers is amazing, and Eleanor, being in the know, was amazed at the technical brilliance. Juliet was thin, like a whippet, but the muscle definition of her body was amazing. Romeo was the same, and for the pair it was easy to see in Act 3, as the danced in the bedroom, in minimalist attire. A reasonably modern interpretation then.

A great trip, and here is a photographic stream.
