Walking and competition

Yesterday we went for a walk – spreading our wings, using information from the Pontivy tourist website again.

This time the walk was centred on Silfiac. A trip of about 11Km. Not as good as the last walk but still has a nice pond.

This weekend was the beginning of the activity competition- traveling from Stuttgart to Glasgow. The young Quirkes, the young Germans and the so-called ‘olds’ of both countries. So there is a momentum now to do more. So the first run in a while this morning:

Bees v Liverpool

Liverpool remain top of the table after a 2-0 win. A rare visit with Shaz.

The reports of the match are all about Liverpool and how good they are, same for MotD. I feel more credit should be given to a good performance by Brentford. They competed well, looked relatively good on the ball and were certainly playing football rather than hooving it up the pitch. So close to an excellent point.

National Portrait Gallery

An afternoon of culture.

I have never been here before- but I have been to the National Gallery next door.

I was not really familiar with Francis Bacon beforehand. His work did not really get me going- but some more interesting pieces.

Based on his style and relationships, I suppose he had a troubling life.

New Years Day football- late report

I was lucky to go to the game as Paul B. came up with an extra ticket – so I was back in my seat with the Percy.

Not a great game and we lost. Frustrating tactics- negative. Understandable tactics at the beginning but do do all the same, especially with subs on, when you are 0-2 behind. Annoying.

But ….. still sounds good:

Morning Walk

Day two of the new routine. A beautiful morning to explore some areas near the house that we have not been to before.

We also enjoyed the watching two fighter jets on a training run. Lots of noise and some low flying at one point.

Listen to the noise:

And follow the small dots across the sky:
